Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix
Ingredients:
1 cup dry milk powder
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:
Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry milk powder, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. Stir until evenly mixed.
Store: Pour the mixture into an airtight container. This cocoa mix can be stored in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months. Makes great gifts!
To Serve: When ready to make a cup of hot cocoa, heat 1 cup of water or milk (for a creamier drink) until hot but not boiling. Add 2-3 tablespoons of the cocoa mix and stir well to dissolve. Adjust to taste if you prefer a richer cocoa.
Enjoy: Top with marshmallows, whipped cream, or a sprinkle of extra cocoa powder if desired.
Tips:
For richer flavor: Substitute part of the sugar with powdered sugar for a smoother texture.
Add a twist: Try mixing in a pinch of cinnamon or a few drops of vanilla extract for added warmth and depth.
Storage: Keep the cocoa mix in a cool, dry place, ideally in a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, to retain its freshness.
Protein: Add a scoop or Life Shake for 20 grams of added protein! Or your favorite protein powder.
Enjoy!
