Growth time is here!
It’s almost here!!! SPRING!!! Spring is a great time to think of growth! Let’s talk about ways you can plant seeds of wellness and grow the fruit of your efforts!
Did you know?! Fresh air boosts your brain! Sunshine can melt your stress. Gardening is good for your heart, and a little dirt underneath your fingernails can actually make you happy! Those are just a few of the priceless benefits of getting out into the great outdoors.
A few other outdoor things to boost your wellness. The time outside helps our mental and physical selves.

Grounding in nature
One of my favorite warm weather things to do is ground myself in nature.
What is Grounding in Nature?
Earthing, aka grounding, is a therapeutic technique that involves doing activities that “ground” or electrically reconnect you to the earth. This practice relies on earthing science and grounding physics to explain how the earth’s electrical charges can actually have positive effects on the body. There isn’t a lot of research, but some of the most recent studies explore the benefits of grounding for inflammation, heart health, muscle damage, chronic pain, and mood.
All that to say, it’s healthy to let yourself have physical contact with plants, trees, water, and soil. Put your barefoot on the ground when you're sitting outside. Stretch out in the grass, dip your feet in the creek, and just enjoy nature by using your sense of touch. Just like the plants are in a season of growth, spring is a great transitional stage for you too, opening new opportunities for growth in your wellness journey.
As you think about your wellness garden, ask yourself:
What has been working for me in my wellness efforts!
Celebrate this and tell yourself good job!
What do I feel I could do better?
This is a chance to reframe and stop yourself from being critical of yourself, but recognize that we all have room to grow, and sometimes just changing the plan a little is all it takes.
Of the areas you feel you could do better, what are the top 2?
Revamp your plan and come up with some things you will do differently to reach those goals.
Use the top 2 items to develop a plan to grow in these areas and resist the urge to add in more things. Let's break it down into manageable steps.
Schedule a coaching session if you need help.
Just like we plant seeds, and then weed, water, and tend the soil to have a good garden, we must do the same for ourselves. As we approach spring, think of what wellness seeds you’d like to plant, then tend to your wellness garden and celebrate the growth! I’ll celebrate with you!
I look forward to celebrating all of your new growth this spring!
All this spring garden talk has me thinking salads! Enjoy!
If you want a more hearty salad, you can add grilled chicken, steak, or seafood, or add beans or peas.
