Welcome to our Burbachulous Craft Loft! Usually, I end Thursday's blog posts with a crafty update and/or tip from the Loft, but this week I want to hang out there and talk about the importance of creativity, so step into my craft loft!
Spending time on a hobby, especially a creative one, may seem like play, but did you know it helps you be a more balanced and happy person? Before we begin, I want to emphasize that being creative doesn't mean you have to be an artist. Creativity is expressed in many ways; for some, they express it through song or dance, others through math, golf, sewing, or building things. You do what works for you.
Benefits of Taking Time for Creativity
Helps with our problem-solving skills
Can help us be more productive in other areas
Helps us be more self-aware
It is a stress relief
Helps us take a break from chaos and learn to find "the zone"
Satisfaction in ourselves and what we have accomplished
Can be a mood lifter
It can help us save money, but that's a tricky one! It's easy to overspend
Helps us take a break from scrolling and time sucks
Helps us learn to prioritize self-care and time without shame
Creates a space for curiosity
Helps us identify and find time for our passions
Creates a space for self-expression
Fights burnout
Helps us enjoy having fun
My husband, Van, and I make greeting cards together and find it especially helpful after a stressful week. But we have learned not to take it too seriously and that perfectionism isn't important. Having fun is. We get to have fun, relieve stress, and receive all the other benefits! Let's get creative!
Thanks for visiting our Burbachulous Craft Loft - This week we worked on these things:
