Asian Week!

Welcome to Monday’s recipes—where Bringing Back Dinner comes to life in its truest form. This space was born out of a simple request from friends: “Just tell me what to make.” And that’s what I do each week—share easy, tested recipes that help take the guesswork out of mealtime. But it’s more than just the food. It’s about gathering at the table, whether it’s two people or twenty, to laugh, share stories, and grow together. Here, dinner isn’t just a meal—it’s the start of something meaningful.

It can be easy to fall into dinnertime ruts, doing the same thing over and over again. This week spice it up with Asian week; some flavors from around the world!

  • Time: 50 minutes

  • Difficulty: Moderate - Takes a little work

  • Description: This is a curried noodle dish. My tip is to choose good curry powder. I like Sweet Curry from Penzey's better than any I've tried, but whatever you choose make sure it has a nice rich aroma.

  • Time: 30 minutes + 2 hours for marinade

  • Difficulty: Easy

  • Description: Zesty, full of flavor and easy! What more could you want? Tip: Don't be afraid of fish sauce, you buy it ready to use and it lasts a long time. The Recipe suggests grilling or stove top, but it easily works in the air fryer - my cooking mode of choice.

  • Time: 45 minutes to make the Dashi, which can be made ahead and frozen. 20 minutes to make the Miso Soup

  • Difficulty: Very Easy - just sounds scary

  • Description: OMG! Homemade Miso soup is a game changer, you'll never want instant again. This recipe shows you how to make a homemade Dashi, which is the base for miso soup and other soups, while the ingredients sound intimidating if you aren't familiar with them they are easy to use. I get my ingredients from The Fresh Market and Whole Foods. My favorite recipe comes from Tokyo Cult Recipes by Maori Murota

  • Time: 15 minutes

  • Difficulty: Easy

  • Description: A quick and easy meal packed with protein! The poached eggs add a nice creamyness to the dish. If you are nervous about pouching try over easy instead.

  • Time: 40 minutes

  • Difficulty: Easy

  • Description: Love and Lemons created a nice spin on a traditional Korean Bibimbap rice bowl. I think you'll like it.

Let me know which one you try first—or if you have a favorite salad that always steals the show!

Enjoy!
